Irving Penn dies at 92

You may have heard by now of the death of Irving Penn on Wednesday morning at his home in Manhattan. He was 92 years old. He was a great photographer in so many areas, fashion, portraiture, still life. It was difficult to choose just one image for this post because there are so many beautiful photos but I was drawn to this one from the gallery at Photography Now. Its well worth a look through the whole gallery. Also read a wonderful obituary here.

His work is amazing...it is a great loss.

By the way - I closed one blog, but started another - they are listed in the same profile...Whimsybits is the newer one.

I don't want to sound cheesy but I suppose if one leaves so much beauty behind they don't really die..

hey sorry to post this here but I couldnt find an email...

Given that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month around the world we at Blaubushka have decided to 'blog for boobs' and help promote as much awareness as we can. We are going pink and encouraging others to do likewise; our main project for the month is to collect as many 'pink photos' during the rest of the month and then produce the collection as an end of month post. What do we mean by 'pink photos'? Well we are ideally looking for photos of pink or pink inspired outfits.

We would be delighted if you would consider taking part!
