I'm not always a huge fan of the fashion editorials in Wallpaper Magazine, I see it as more of an architecture/design magazine with the fashion thrown in as a nice bonus. However April's edition was a completely different matter, the fashion shoot Flat Out was outstandingly beautiful. The artist and photographer Harry Bowers was commissioned to produce a fashion shoot in the flat style he uses to photograph clothes in his Lost and Found Project. He places the clothes under a pane of glass allowing him to shape them to a painterly effect. Please excuse my quick snaps (you can click them to enlarge) - his photos are actually extremely high quality - he built his own camera especially for the shoot to achieve unusually high resolution images. I love the way you can see every wrinkle and fold, and even the texture of each fabric. The empty clothes dance together in couples, showing off their beauty independently of any wearer.

Must run and buy a copy!What a great shoot, the concept is so original with the clothes all tightly packed in.Must check out more of his work...I did hear about that lost and found project before though, I guess a few different artists have completed similar projects.

These are so cool! At first I thought they were made of clay or wooden cutouts. Then I thought they were vacuum packed. But, they're neither haha! They are so clever and artistic!
