Phonebook Fashion

Jolis Paons has a new use for her old phonebooks, she made them into a dress. She pleated, folded, stuck, glued and sewed everything by hand. Its an amazing piece of work - I think its the bodice that really makes it. The way that shoulder strap/collar sticks up at just the right angle then curves down the back, and all that beautiful ruching that shapes the waist. If it wasn't for the Irish weather I would be seriously tempted to tear into the phonebook and see if I could come up with something half as good myself, but I just know the result would look more like a Junior Infants art project than a gown worthy of Cinderella's night at the ball.

Go look and admire more photos here.

Damn! And I just chucked three heavy duty phonebooks into the recycling bin....look what I could have made. Well, in dreamland. That's amazing.
